In short

Eight questions to answer before you hand invoice processing to software, from approval limits to audit evidence.

Automating payables goes well when the rules are written down before the software arrives. These are the questions we ask every new customer in the first call.

Who approves what

List every approval limit by amount, entity and spend category. If two people would answer differently, settle it before go-live.

What counts as a match

Decide your tolerances for two- and three-way matching: a fixed amount, a percentage, or both. Small tolerances save hours; large ones hide problems.

What evidence your auditors want

Ask your auditors which documents they sample each year and make sure every automated posting keeps them attached. Kestrel stores the invoice, PO, receipt and the approval trail on every entry.
