Kestrel was started by a controller and two engineers who spent too many month-ends tying out spreadsheets at midnight. We build software that does the repetitive work and leaves the judgement to your team.
Our story
From a closing checklist to six agents
In 2022 our co-founder Priya Raman was running the close at a 400-person software company. Every month her team spent nine days matching invoices, chasing receipts and rebuilding the same reconciliations.
We started by automating one step: matching bank lines to invoices. Customers asked for the next step, then the next. Today six agents cover payables, receivables, reconciliations, close, spend and reporting.
Every agent works inside the rules your team already follows. It shows its work, asks when it isn’t sure and never posts anything it can’t explain.
